One of my favorite things to do is find New Orleans or Louisiana themed gift packages. I don’t know why but there’s something about getting a box in the mail full of great items from the place I love. What about you?

I’ve shared different lists in the past full of baskets and boxes of all kinds of food and trinkets, but this time – at least for now – here are two brand new great gift packages the New Orleans foodie and coffee lover will totally get a kick out of.

The first one I want to bring up is in limited quantity. So, if you’re interested in this, you may want to act fast. We all know who Chef Isaac Toups is, right? I recently interviewed him. (You can find that ‘How Do You Red Bean?‘ article here) He owns Toups Meatery in New Orleans along with Toups South, which is located inside of the Southern Food and Beverage Museum, also in NOLA. Last year, he released his first cookbook titled, Chasing the Gator – Isaac Toups & the New Cajun Cooking (Little, Brown and Company). There’s over 100 great recipes in the book along with stories and photographs. The cookbook was named one of the best cookbooks by both The New York Times and Southern Living.

Now this year, he’s come out with a line of hot sauces. This is what he told me: “I make the sauces myself:  The Smokey Green adds a mild smoke flavor from the Cajun gods. Louisiana Liquid Snake is a bright hot sauce made with Louisiana red cayenne peppers.”

For a limited time, you can buy BOTH the cookbook and the hot sauces for $50 in a package deal. AND the best part? The cookbook is autographed! How cool is that?

To purchase this package – or the cookbook by itself or individual bottles of the hot sauces – just visit Chef Isaac Toups’ online store at https://toupsmeatery.com.

The next package is for the New Orleans coffee lover.

New Orleans French Truck Coffee has released their 2019 holiday blend, La Fete de Noel. And to celebrate, they are putting together two different holiday gift boxes.

The first option is the Nola Holiday Gift Box, priced at $52, and is filled with four 12-ounce bags of signature New Orleans blends, including La Fête de Noël, La Nouvelle Orleans Chicory Coffee, Premium New Orleans Dark Roast and Le Grand COQ Rouge.

The second option, the Holiday Gift Box, is priced at $60 and allows you to mix and match signature blends and single origins. This box includes two 12-ounce bags of signature blends and two 12-ounce bags of single origins.

Each coffee has been crafted with the highest quality standard for which French Truck Coffee is known for. The La Fête de Noël blends Colombian & Guatemalan Coffee sourced by French Truck in June 2019. It is roasted to a medium roast level highlighting the bold flavors of the Colombian and brings a cherry sweetness to the ultra-balanced Guatemala.

Also this year, French Truck has added FTC themed merchandise. This includes mugs and tumblers, apparel and several stocking stuffers. All items are available online or in any French Truck location.

Visit their online store at https://frenchtruckcoffee.com.

The two links listed in this article – to Toups Meatery and to the French Truck Coffee – go directly to their websites. I receive nothing from either of these two if you purchase anything from them. These are just two great New Orleans companies that I support and want to help them share their products. I hope you do the same.
