There’s no better way to toast the Saints than with a cocktail that celebrates the team colors themselves. The Black and Gold Rush Cocktail is bold, balanced, and just the thing to sip on while cheering through all four quarters. With bourbon as its base and a smooth blend of amaro, lemon juice, and honey, this cocktail is as New Orleans as game day itself.
This Black and Gold Rush Cocktail comes from General Manager Steve Groom at Costera, a Spanish-inspired restaurant in Uptown New Orleans known for its lively atmosphere and bold flavors. Groom created the Black & Gold Rush cocktail as a nod to the city’s team, and it’s quickly become a game day favorite.
The mix of bourbon and Averna Amaro gives the cocktail its dark, earthy “black” depth, while fresh lemon juice and honey syrup bring out that “gold” brightness. It’s smooth, slightly sweet, and perfect for sipping while you’re watching the Saints march down the field.
