Rudy da Foodie is a social media influencer. He has a strong following on Instagram and Facebook and it grows larger every day. But what he really is, is an ambassador to all of the great food options found in his hometown: New Orleans.
His passion for food and cooking came at a young age while watching his grandmother cook. The New Orleans native initially wanted to become a physical therapist out of college, however, he took a career path towards the hospitality industry and eventually became the General Manager for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. After spending ten years at that position, Rudy took on the opportunity to help at-risk children and signed on as Director of Café Reconcile. At Café Reconcile, which is a culinary school that gives young people the skills they need for a future in the restaurant business, Rudy was able to work with some of New Orleans biggest chefs. In 2014, Rudy and the staff at Café Reconcile catered the Essence Music Festival. There, they prepared food for Prince, Mary J Blige, and the Essence Executives.
With over 20-years of experience in the hospitality and non-profit industry, Rudy went on to start his own independent consulting firm. He now helps companies and organizations improve their operational performance and management processes. His goal is to help others break down barriers and to create work environments where everyone can achieve success.
That philosophy of sharing and helping others, whether it’s with the at-risk youth at Café Reconcile or promoting an amazing meal at a restaurant on Instagram, is what Rudy da Foodie is all about. That passion for food and cooking is still there. It’s what motivates him to continue to promote about the good that he finds in the city that he loves: New Orleans. And his followers are eating it up.
